The Bottom Drawer
I organize the bottom drawer in my closet often lately.
In there, yesterday's silhouettes that I did not let go, gathered like cicada skins.
The hinges rusted with time; most clothes are gone, but some remain like folklore village and getting older, and a chill wind blows there resembling late autumn evening.
The unsung dreams of a young stargazer; a settler's arduous midday on the gravel-roads; the thirst of a woman in autumnal longing… now all are but old clothes that don't fit!
Though many are thrown away, some are still buried deep in my mind's bottom drawer. One by one I pat them, and gently lay them back again, --lay the incurable longing too.
I close the drawer as if closing the door of the dear old home.
My heart hears the disturbed yesterday's silhouettes mourning
