Purchasing and Buying Manager (Apparels: Contact with Korean, US, Canadian vendors)
Key Responsibilities:
Handled the entire procurement process, including product consultations with vendors, purchasing, apparel design selecting, shipping, importation, inventory management, and distribution to stores.
Preferred candidate has over 5+ years of experience in import/export operations with a solid understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
Communicated with Korean Golf apparel vendors to manage quarterly purchases, inventory control, and product consultations.
Select and purchase seasonal golf clothing and accessories aligned with the latest fashion and market trends.
Ensure thorough understanding and management of contracts to maintain internal compliance with company sales policies and legal regulations.
After goods are received, input purchase orders into the Shopify system and coordinate task assignments—such as inventory receiving, product registration, and launch scheduling—to ensure that products are released on time
Analyzed sales and inventory data, and prepared regular reports for management
Coordinated with shop managers (AGM) to oversee visual merchandising and ensure consistent store presentation every week
Collect weekly inventory ratio reports from each shop manager, identify any discrepancies with the system records, and coordinate with the inventory manager to correct and update the data accordingly
Responsible for fashion show, including selecting models, and coordinated fitting sessions and ensured the proper styling of outfits for the show
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, particularly in apparel or fashion retail
Hands-on experience with import/export operations and dealing with international vendors, especially in Korea, the US, and Canada
Familiarity with fashion buying cycles, trend forecasting, and seasonal merchandise planning
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of international trade compliance, customs regulations, and logistics (e.g., duties, tariffs, incoterms)
Proficiency in Shopify or equivalent retail/inventory management systems
Skilled in data analysis (Excel, ERP, inventory systems) for tracking sales, purchase trends, and forecasting
Communication & Coordination:
Bilingual or proficient in Korean and English to liaise with Korean apparel vendors effectively
Proven ability to coordinate cross-functionally with design, inventory, logistics, and retail operations teams
Comfortable leading projects such as fashion shows, visual merchandising, and store launch campaigns
Fashion & Market Insight:
Strong eye for fashion trends, with a preference for candidates experienced in golf apparel or athleisure
Ability to evaluate vendor proposals and product samples for style, quality, and market fit
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field
Prior experience in a multi-brand retail company or boutique fashion chain
Demonstrated leadership in managing store-level execution (e.g., merchandising, staff coordination)
Experience planning or managing fashion shows or marketing events is a strong asset
Prior experience using data-driven tools to manage inventory discrepancies and improve procurement accuracy
