The NewToBC Library Champions Project is looking for immigrants living in Burnaby or Coquitlam with an interest and passion for libraries! The Library Champions Project has been a huge success throughout Metro Vancouver - please promote this opportunity to your immigrant clients!
Library Champions are provided training to understand the resources and services available at libraries for immigrants and to improve their communication and presentation skills. Champions then reach out into the community to share this information with other newcomers and encourage them to become library users.
In addition to training, Library Champions will receive transportation support and a certificate of achievement citing the volunteer hours completed.
To be selected to be a Library Champion, you must attend the information session.
