HR Coordinator/Assistant
Job Description
Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
Provide full-cycle recruitment support, including job postings, interview coordination, reference checks and on boarding process.
Facilitate New hire Orientation and Safety Training, and coordinate safety awards.
Create profiles and update movements in HRIS and HR folders.
Coordinate monthly First Aid Kit checks and site inspections
Facilitate annual first aid drill and requirements as per WorkSafeBC regulations.
Assist in Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings, prepare agendas, and organize occupational safety training sessions.
Administrate and follow up injury claims, incident investigations, return-to-work plans, inspection from WorkSafeBC or occupational specialists.
Build and maintain relationship and effective communication with departments
Assist in providing support and advice to departments for all HR services e.g. performance review, benefit and compensation review, conflict resolution, recruitment and communications etc.
Assist in bi-weekly payroll for employees.
Review time and attendance records for accuracy in coding and completeness.
Benefits Administration
Assist in year end process and new year preparation.
Organize and support company events
Coordinate occupation trainings and courses from external stakeholders and apply government education fund.
Update and analyze the company’s organization hierarchy.
Create, update HR policies and templates and the Work Safety Handbook.
Address and resolve employee inquiries
Assist in HR audits, organize, scan HR-related documents into share drives and ensure accurate record keeping.
Plan and conduct HR-related projects in alignment with team goals.
Other duties as may arise from time to time may be assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
A diploma or degree in Human Resources
Minimum 1 year of HR experience is required for the Assistant position, and 2–3 years for the Coordinator position.
Experience in Dayforce Ceridian is an asset
CPHR / PCP designations are assets
Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS Office
Valid Drivers license
Solid understanding of employment legislation in Canada and Human Rights legislation
Ability to prioritize and organize a high volume of work and competing priorities
Strong administration/organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication
