We are emailing you from the YMCA of Greater Vancouver, Youth BEAT program which supports youth with mental health barriers to fulfill their employment needs. We are now recruiting for our online program starting APRIL 12, 2021!

Youth BEAT is a free program that supports youth ages 17 - 29 that experience mental health barriers to achieving their employment goals. Participants benefit from 5 weeks of workshops based around employability, wellness and life skills; and 12-week support phase during work placements.
YBEAT participants can earn up to $600 in bonus incentives for successful completion of the program and employment outcomes!
This holistic program provides a wealth of support, training, and mentorship that is tailored to meet the individual needs of our participants.
Workshops include:
- Pre-employment and job readiness skills, such as résumé-building and job maintenance;
- Workplace communication and conflict resolution strategies;
- Career planning, employment counseling, mentoring and coaching;
- Short-term certificate training access;
- Mental health support and workshops;
- 1-1 support from a dedicated Employment Coach, which could include financial supports such as food, clothing, childcare or transportation subsidies.
Basic eligibility criteria:
To participate in the program, youth must be between 17 and 29 years old, a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Confirmed Refugee, unemployed or precariously employed and experiencing some form of mental health barrier to finding and/or maintaining employment.
