Job Description:

Operations Workers are assigned to work in Recycling Operations to safely operate a Recycling truck on assigned residential collection routes or to work in Street Cleaning Operations to collect litter and debris from City Streets and laneways. Operations Workers may also be assigned to other Sanitation Branch specific work.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 or equivalent preferred; labouring experience; truck driving experience; knowledge of safe work procedures; the physical ability to lift and push heavy objects; the ability to work on uneven surfaces, and the ability to work outside in all weather conditions; willingness to learn and ability to deal tactfully with the public.  Experience working as part of a diverse team and working alongside the public.  Experience working in roles requiring learning new skills, procedures and processes.  Occupational First Aid and WHIMIS training are desirable.   Experience in operating mobile construction heavy equipment is preferred. 
Must be willing and able to work shift work which include days, afternoons, nights and weekends.
A current class 5 with Air endorsement BC driver's license is a requirement of this position, a class 3 with air endorsement or a class 1 driver's license is an asset. 

Full-time, Part-time, Permanent Short-term:

FT ($25.78/hr)
